Partner: Azul Originario, El Salvador
Meet Abbie Valladares, a 12-year-old whose life changed when she joined “Arte en Trazo,” a program by Azul Originario supported by FOCUS Central America Foundation.
“On April 1, 2024, my life took an exciting turn as I joined ‘Arte en Trazo,’ a space dedicated to drawing and painting. Not only did I develop my artistic skills, but I also discovered something incredible: art not only stimulates creativity but also helps solve problems.”
Abbie participated in the “Art Training Process,” which trained 36 children and adolescents in drawing, painting, and music. The program equips participants with technical, theoretical, and practical tools, allowing them to bring their imaginations to life.
Abbie has created works of art with her peers, highlighting themes such as environmental conservation, equality, and the visibility of Afro-descendants in El Salvador.
What stood out most for her was the dedication of the Azul Originario team:
“They designed activities and games that made learning fun and exciting for all of us. Every class felt like a creative adventure.”
Through this program, Abbie realized that art is a powerful tool—a medium for expression, understanding the world, and finding innovative solutions to challenges.
“I am excited to continue exploring this path and see where my creativity will take me!”
