Let’s become entrepreneurs together: Women Transforming Communities

Thanks to the New Sun Road Digital Community Centers in Huehuetenango, Alta Verapaz, and Quiché, more than 60 women entrepreneurs participated in the “Let’s become entrepreneurs together” initiative—a program designed to boost the local economy through training, mentorship, and business development support.

Led by entrepreneurship expert Sofía Hegel, participants strengthened their skills in leadership, innovation, business pitching, and networking. The program was delivered virtually, leveraging the digital tools acquired in previous workshops.

After completing a multi-stage training process, 15 women presented their final pitches, and 6 were recognized for the impact and potential of their ventures.

• Small group work enhances participation.
• Programs like this not only promote entrepreneurship but also build resilience, leadership, and women’s empowerment.

“Let’s become entrepreneurs together” leaves a lasting impact on participants’ lives and paves the way for more inclusive and sustainable development in rural communities across Guatemala.
