100 Young People Leading Change in Honduras

OYE believes in the transformative power of youth. In 2025, their youth programs kicked off with over 100 scholarship recipients and volunteers committed to community development—using art, graphic design, audiovisual communication, and sports as tools for change.

Every Saturday, these young leaders gather to strengthen their skills, share ideas, and carry out social actions such as murals, environmental cleanups, and digital campaigns that are making a real impact in El Progreso and surrounding communities.

This edition highlights the story of Angie, a scholarship recipient since 2021 and now coordinator of the audiovisual communication youth program:

“OYE welcomed me when I was still in high school. Today I’m studying Public Accounting and Finance, and thanks to OYE, I’ve developed skills like leadership, communication, and teamwork. Being a coordinator is a challenge I’m excited about—an opportunity to keep learning and giving back. I’m ready to inspire others like me.”

Angie leads Somos OYE, a digital platform created by youth for youth, connecting them to opportunities, stories, and messages that inspire transformation.

Her story reflects the true impact of OYE: when young people are given support and the right tools, they grow, lead, and transform their communities.
