Partner: Asociación BAYAN, Honduras
Asociación BAYAN is revolutionizing education in rural areas of Honduras through the Tutorial Learning System (SAT), an innovative educational model developed by the Foundation for the Application and Teaching of Sciences (FUNDAEC).
This program focuses on developing the skills of children, youth, and adults, providing them with access to high-quality education.
A cornerstone of the SAT program is the role of the tutor, who supports students throughout their learning journey. Each tutor undergoes a minimum of 150 hours of training annually for six consecutive years, ensuring strong and continuous professional development.
With financial and technical support from partners like Focus Central America Foundation, the program’s training component has been successfully implemented since the fourth quarter of 2023.
Over 300 tutors across 10 departments in the country have received 120+ hours of training, enhancing their understanding of study materials, educational practices, and community service projects that contribute to local development.
Additionally, the program has fostered a greater sense of belonging and commitment among educators, promoting a more inclusive and transformative approach to education in Honduras’ rural areas.
This initiative continues to positively impact the lives of hundreds of students and their communities, driving sustainable change through education.
