Calidad de Vida, Honduras: Taking Care of Themselves to Help Others

August 28, 2024

Calidad de Vida is a women’s rights organization, founded on June 5, 1996, with the objective of protecting the lives of women victims of violence, defining or making real a plan for a life free of violence. Their work is carried out in 6 departments across Honduras with a focus on prevention, support, political advocacy, and institutional strengthening.

The organization celebrated its 28th anniversary with a therapeutic trip for the strengthening, and personal and mental growth, of all the members of the team over three days.

FCA’s flexible, unrestricted funds were designed to put the spending decisions directly into the hands of organizations, and to support this type of essential selfcare programs that would typically be prohibited under project funding.

FCA understands that a staff dedicated to fighting daily for the rights of women victims and survivors of domestic violence, must take care of themselves in order to provide adequate support.

FCA congratulates Calidad de Vida for prioritizing the care of their team’s wellbeing and knows that it is essential part of their continued service to the women and children of Honduras.
