Innovative Mental Health Interventions for Youth

Did you know that half of mental health disorders begin before the age of 14, and 1 in 5 adolescents in Latin America and the Caribbean experiences mental health challenges?

TeenSmart International is taking action by launching the online educational platform.

Through this platform, TeenSmart offers FCA-affiliated youth two virtual micro-courses, “Building Emotions,” designed by psychology and education professionals.

These courses incorporate feedback from over 1,000 adolescents from 18 Spanish-speaking countries and have been enhanced with support from AWS Health Equity Grants.

The platform also provides online coaching through the “Need Advice?” service, where users can chat instantly with Joy, the chatbot, or connect asynchronously with health professionals.

This innovative and engaging approach seamlessly integrates technology, making it easier for young people to seek help in a way that aligns with their lifestyle.
